About Me

You can find my official CV and credentials on my LinkedIn page. I LOVE data and working with data and have been doing it for a very long time.

Other than that I’m also an avid and social geek and enjoy collecting a variety of skills, martial and otherwise. I brew mead, am in the SCA (Barony of Bryn Madoc), was a wilderness first responder for Georgia Tech, sea kayak, cave, practice aerial fabrics, middle eastern dance, and enjoy going to science fiction conventions. I have done occasional consulting, voice acting and extra in a number of Atlanta film and TV productions such as the Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Black Panther. I do volunteering when I can. I was a Girl Scout Troop leader (Troop 13081), and am the Recurve team coach with the Madison County 4H Archery Team.

On the martial side, I practiced Hung Gar Kung Fu, Capoeira, Olympic fencing, historical fencing, thrown weapons (knife, ax, and spear), and have in the last few years started competitive archery nationally in the Traditional division (longbow).

About this site

Yes, I know technically ninja are feudal Japanese spy warriors. Let’s consider this use the official Oxford informal definition of a person who excels in a particular skill or activity. I aspire to collect and hone skills. And this site is my attempt to share my data skills with everyone. I don’t claim to know everything, as I tell my co-workers, I just have made waaay more mistakes then they have over the years, so have a good idea where things can go wrong.

If you’re still reading and are interested, I intend to publish blog articles that over time will aggregate into something resembling a ‘course’ that will bring a beginner SQL developer to having the skills to be a reporting analyst that I would hire. The more of us in the world the better! Go hit the Start Here page to check out the ‘master plan’. There are a number of excellent intro to SQL classes, and you should have at least the basics under your belt before going on these tips!
